Permits have been filed for a mixed-use infill at 1401 H Street in Sacramento’s Mansion Flats neighborhood, close to downtown. The project is looking to replace a vacant plot of land at the corner of H and 14th Street with a five-story apartment complex. The property owner is listed as a Manhattan-based individual.
The proposal is looking to construct 60 units within the five-story apartment complex. The units will be designed as a mix of short and long-term rentals, according to the application. Further information about the project has not yet been published, including details about the potential architect or developer.

The New York-based owner reportedly purchased the lot in 2020 for $1.25 million. According to reporting by Ben van der Meer for the Sacramento Business Journal, the empty lot had previously been owned by the city’s professional basketball team, the Sacramento Kings.
The property is located at the corner of H Street and 14th Street on the southern edge of the Mansion Flats neighborhood. The site is just two blocks from the city’s Convention Center, and five blocks from the California State Capitol Park.
