Eden Housing and the Pacific Companies recently celebrated the grand opening of La Vista Apartments at 722 Tennyson Road in Hayward, Alameda County. The two-structure, five-story affordable housing complex has added 176 new residences to a hillside property half a mile away from the South Hayward BART Station. Pacific West Builders is responsible for the construction as general contractor.
Orange County-based AO is responsible for the design. Site photographs show an articulated facade clad with plaster and glass Juliette balconies. Residential amenities include a community room, shared kitchen, laundry rooms, and a computer lab. The common area will foster community among residents by providing space for gatherings and meetings. The common space can also host exercise, health, and wellness programs, art classes, educational classes, and cultural activities.

The complex includes 176 apartments, ranging from studios to three-bedroom units. Two of the apartments will be set aside for live-in community managers. Financing has been provided by CREA, Chase, and the California Housing Finance Agency. Future residents will be just 15 minutes away from the South Hayward BART Station on foot.
