As per a recently released statement by BART, the long-awaited West Oakland BART development project is now taking initial steps towards construction. A portion of the West Oakland BART parking lot is closed this week for preliminary site soil testing and preparations. Site remediation, followed by building construction, is to begin later this year.
Construction has started on a new affordable housing complex at 825 Drake Avenue in Marin City, Marin County. The Crews are expecting the installation of modular building sections to last until mid-February on the development that will eventually contain 42 apartments. The Pacific Companies is responsible for the application.
The affordable multifamily project known as Martha Gardens has broken ground at its location of 802 South 1st Street in San Jose. The project, which has been in the planning and preparation phase for more than four years, has made a major step towards eventual completion. John Nicolas and developers at the Pacific Companies were specifically called out in the announcement for their dedication and assistance in seeing the project through to this stage.
Adeline Alliance Team has been selected to redevelop the Ashby BART Station in the south of Berkeley, Alameda County. The successful vision proposes a densely packed mixed-use hub that ties together community needs and residential services below hundreds of apartments. The project is currently in its preliminary stages as the team and city enter an exclusive negotiation agreement.
The City of Menlo Park has opened up applications for the development of three large parking plazas in Downtown Menlo Park. The city plans to build a minimum of 345 units of affordable housing spread across the three sites but has not restricted the addition of more units. The program plans to integrate affordable housing options into the high-resource downtown area.
