A new shelter for the unhoused has been proposed for development at 2177 Jerrold Avenue in Bayview, San Francisco. The project proposal includes a 10-year lease of the property located on the site, to be used as a temporary shelter for the unhoused population. Plans call for the demolition of an existing warehouse.
The property is owned by Washington State-based Lawrence B Stone Properties LLC.
The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 2.25 acres. The project proposes a 10-year lease of the property located on the site. The project also proposes tenant improvements to the existing office building and warehouse, minor paving, grading, and striping for use of the site as low-barrier temporary emergency housing. The project will also involve construction of a cabin village with a maximum of 60 prefabricated cabins for unhoused individuals and couples. 20 parking spaces for individuals and couples living in their vehicles will also be provided. Tenant improvements include a community and dining room, meeting rooms, clinic, storage facilities, guard shacks, restrooms and showers, and case management offices.
A project application has been submitted and is pending review and approval. The construction timeline has not been established yet.
