Construction is finishing on a four-story residential building at 889 McLellan Drive in South San Francisco, San Mateo County. The project will bring twenty for sale apartments next to the South City BART Station, grocery stores, and the El Camino High School campus. Foster City-based resident Kathy Feng is listed as the property owner.
EID Architects is responsible for the design. The complex will be broken up into seperate massings, with a three-story component with sloped roofs, balconies, and rooftop terraces overlooking McLellan Drive. The stucco exterior is wrapped i a contrast of white and black patches with narrow white horizontal pinstripes.
The project is bringing a range of one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom bedrooms above a roughly 6,000-square-foot commercial retail space. Parking will be included in a basement garage. Concord-based D Squared Construction is the general contractor, and Arixa Capital is providing financing.
The 1.4-acre property is located at the corner of McLellan Drive and Mission Road, close to Colma Creek and the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Future residents will be next to a grocery store and a Costco big-box store.
Construction started in 2020, with vertical work starting in 2022 and topping out by 2023. Units have started to be listed online, with a one-bedroom unit on sale for $889,000 and a two-bedroom unit for $1.029 million.
