Design review permits have been filed for a two-unit development at 2266 East 19th Street in San Antonio, Oakland. The project will develop a three-story duplex with a carport on the site, currently occupied by a vacant house. San Jose-based Appletree Investment LLC is listed as the property owner.

The initial application does not specify if demolition will be required for the existing duplex structure, which contains two apartments and one accessory dwelling unit. The application does state that construction will result in a new three-story duplex with a carport. Each new residence will feature three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The 0.17-acre property is located along East 19th Street between 22nd and 23rd Avenue, near the Garfield Municipal Playground and a few blocks from the roughly 11-acre San Antonio Park. Future residents will be around 11 minutes away by bus from the Fruitvale BART Station.

Tuong Tran of Tranvu LLC is listed as the applicant. The estimated cost and timeline for construction have yet to be shared.

  1. Multiple family sized units near Public transportation is great. Since it is likely that children will be living in the building and adults who ride bikes, will there be secured bicycle parking?
