New building permits have been filed for half of The Kind Project South at 7141 Woodbine Avenue in Sacramento. The master plan calls for two parallel structures with over two hundred affordable apartments separated by a landscaped communal plaza. Urban Elements is the project developer.

The recent proposal will build a four-story apartment with 108 dwelling units, of which a hundred will be studios and eight will be one-bedroom residences. The complex will yield 47,060 square feet. Surface parking will be provided on part of the 1.44-acre property, with additional space inside the building for bicycle parking.
19Six Architects is responsible for the design. Illustrations show a simple, boxy exterior clad with plaster panels. The facade will be punctuated with a grid of private balconies on the longer north and south-facing walls. Landscaping will include a fenced dog zone, outdoor seating, trees, and a small playground.

Previously, the developer Urban Elements followed through on the construction of The Kind Project in West Sacramento. Construction built three-story structures with 148 micro-apartments in a site planning form similar to the proposal in Woodbine. In 2023, Kind Downtown opened with 72 apartments at 1901 8th Street in Downtown Sacramento.
