Zoning permits have been filed for a five-story affordable infill at 472 West MacArthur Boulevard in Mosswood, Oakland. The development will bring 80 apartments of permanent supportive housing for seniors. Irvine-based Domus Development is the project sponsor.

KFA Architecture is responsible for the design. The project rendering shared by the Culver City-based studio shows an articulated apartment complex with a mix of setbacks and angular bay windows to appear like three narrow structures of varying heights overlooking the thoroughfare. Rooftop terraces will be included to provide views facing Downtown Oakland.
The 55-foot-tall structure will create 80 dwellings alongside a 24-car garage. Unit types will vary with 20 studios, 59 one-bedrooms, and a two-bedroom managers’ unit. The ground floor will be dominated by the garage, with an entryway courtyard, community room, lobby, and bike parking.

The roughly half-acre property is located along West MacArthur Boulevard close to the intersection with Telegraph Avenue and I-580. Future residents will be just seven minutes away from the MacArthur BART Station, and the retail-rich Piedmont Avenue is ten minutes away on foot.
Paradise Investments Inc. is listed as the property owner. The estimated cost and timeline for construction have yet to be shared.
