Sacramento Planning and Design Commission will meet later today to review the proposed development on two vacant areas of land at 2325 10th Avenue and 2341 Omaha Beach Avenue along Crocker Drive. The project, named Crocker Village, is brought by Petrovich Development Company.
The proposal would subdivide the two areas into 34 and 35 parcels, with 31 and 30 single-family homes to be constructed respectively. The format and designs for the project are largely built out of the existing residential area and will follow much of the same format and style. TSD Engineering is responsible for the site-specific civil engineering while BSB is responsible for the new architecture and designs.

The housing design is to use 4 tract models for construction, named English Country, Spanish Mission, English Cottage, and French Cottage. Their building exteriors will range from tan to dark beige with masonry around the side walls or entryways of the building. Plans one and two are two-story three bedrooms, while plans three and four are three-story four bedrooms.

The planning and design staff is recommending a split decision for this project, suggesting that the commission green-light the 2.49-acre flex parcel area to be subdivided into 31 single-family homes, but that they deny the request to subdivide the 2.37-acre parcel that is currently designated multi-unit dwelling, as the development plan is not consistent with the zoning or density for that parcel. Information on the meeting can be found here.

Suburban style development for an area with a critical housing shortage. Typical short-sighted development from myopic politicians.
Right next to retail, a community college and a light rail station? These shouldn’t be single-family houses. Petrovich once again trying to take Sacramento for a ride and eke out every last cent of profit from one of his development sites.
Good luck to the people who will live at the corner of Ronald Reagan Lane and Omaha Beach Avenue. What century is this? You’ll have to be 75 years old with a pension and 2 vacation homes to afford one of these places.
Crocker Village is such wasted potential
