A new townhome project broke ground last week on a small project site located at 300 Redding Road in Campbell, Santa Clara County. The groundbreaking of this project marks the first construction implemented using a 2023 California state law allowing the fast-tracking of this type of development.
The development in question is a six-unit townhome project brought by AlphaX RE Capital. Entitled ‘Mercury Lane,’ the development falls within the two to ten unit range, qualifying it for the Senate Bill 684, or ‘California Starter Home Revitalization Act.’
The individual units will range in size from 1,400 to 2,000 square feet, including floorplans with three or four bedrooms. Each of the units is to include a built-in two-car garage.

The project scale is denser than its adjacent properties, but its position just off of S Bascome Avenue and Camden Avenue means that its height and mass will not be out of place for the neighborhood. Meanwhile, the project will be able to inject new middle-priced housing into the area, with starting sale prices for the properties expected at more than 30% below the median single-family home for Campbell.
