The environmental review process has been declared complete for a townhouse proposal at 1030-1038 McKendrie Street in Central San Jose, Santa Clara County. The project would add a dozen residential units to a surface parking lot just a few blocks away from the College Park limited-service Caltrain Station. Studio Current is responsible for the application and potential design.
The city has published the mitigated negative declaration, providing an agreement with the developer on how to reduce the potential significant environmental effects of construction.

Details about the proposed structure and design remain limited even with the MND published for CEQA. The applicant is looking to produce 12 townhouse-style units across two multi-family structures. Residential parking will be provided with private garages, and surface parking designated as guest parking.
The 0.45-acre property on a block that is bound by McKendrie Street, Myrtle Street, The Alameda, and West Hedding Street. Future residents will be in The Alameda, an historic district in Central San Jose.
Construction is expected to be a quick five months from groundbreaking to completion. Work could start as early as next March, according to the environmental review, with crews on-site on weekdays from 7 AM to 7 PM.
