The San Mateo Planning Commission has approved plans for residential development at 3000 Clearview Way in San Mateo, San Mateo County. The proposal would add over two hundred for-sale houses to the former hillside GoPro headquarters overlooking Highway 92. Harvest Properties is the project sponsor, in partnership with Stockbridge.

The development will include 222 for-sale residential units, with 149 townhome-style apartments across 22 structures and 73 detached single-family houses. Of the 222 units, there will be 33 affordable units deed-restricted for moderate-income households. Dwelling sizes vary, with 71 three-bedroom units and 151 four-bedroom units. Parking is included for 474 vehicles and 224 bicycles.
KTGY is the project architect, working with Jett, an Orinda-based landscape architecture firm. The plan set shows that three different facade styles will be applied across the project, defined as Spanish, Modern French, and Modern Farmhouse.

The roughly 21-acre property is located on a hillside between College of San Mateo and The Heights by PulteGroup. Future residents would live in a car-oriented neighborhood, two miles away from the Hillsdale Caltrain Station and the Hillsdale Shopping Center.

The application was streamlined through Senate Bill 330. The estimated cost and timeline for construction have not yet been shared.

Idk man. More SFH subdivisions.. I don’t oppose this project, but it really doesn’t excite me. New developments should be clustered around Caltrain and BART..
Just driving that high is miserable on the accelerator. No one will ever walk it.
Not every project can be next to Caltrain 😉 This is a dense amount of single family homes. The density itself is a huge win and a sign of the progress that’s been made in the last 10-15 years.
The vast majority of America is car-based travel, that’s the reality, this is good infill on underutilized land. Some of it could be used as student housing rentals for College of San Mateo next door?
There is a strong demand for housing like this and the land was already dedicated to office.
There is actually a few strip mall developments right on the other side of the Freeway but no nice way to walk to them
