The Orchards Project in San Ramon to Proceed Despite Opposition

Earlier this week, the San Ramon City Council voted unanimously to reject an appeal that would have halted redevelopment of the former Chevron office park site along Bollinger Canyon Road in San Ramon. The proposed 144-acre redevelopment would bring more than 2,500 new units of housing to the site, a significant increase for a city of less than 100,000 residents.

Meeting Tonight For Orchards Affordable Apartments, San Ramon

The San Ramon Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans tonight for affordable housing at 6001 Bollinger Canyon Road in San Ramon, Contra Costa County. The four-story project will add one hundred units within the much larger Orchards Development masterplan to redevelop the former Chevron global headquarters campus. Eden Housing is the project application, filed on behalf of the property owner, Sunset Development Company.

Planning Commission Meeting Scheduled for The Orchards Project in San Ramon

The San Ramon Planning Commission is meeting tomorrow to further review the plan to redevelop a large area at 6001 Bollinger Canyon Road. The project, entitled ‘The Orchards’, was previously reported on by SF YIMBY in May of this year, and before that, a different project was proposed at the same location under its original name of Chevron Park. Sunset Development Company is responsible for the project, and their representatives will be speaking before the commission.
