Amendment Expands San Jose’s Diridon Station Area Plan

The City of San Jose has published a 267-page addendum to the Final Environmental Impact Report of the Diridon Station Area Plan, showing an increase in allowed office space and hotel rooms in downtown San Jose. The Diridon Station Area Plan, or DSAP, is a purposeful rezoning of 262 acres adopted by San Jose in 2014 to build closer to public transit. The plan aims to extend the city’s Central Business District to reach the train station in response to 2008’s successful Proposition 1A to start the High-Speed Rail project from southern to northern California, including the anticipated link with Diridon Station.

907 North Capitol Avenue Heads to San Jose Planning Commission

Plans for a new residential building at 907 North Capitol Avenue in the Berryessa Neighborhood have been brought to the San Jose Planning Commission. The proposal will demolish one single-family residence, divide the property into seven parcels, with six residential and one common area. Two buildings will be built, each containing three units. Elite Realty Services is responsible for the development, named the Berryesa Home Development.

Zoning and Demo Approval for Little Portugal Gateway, San Jose

The San Jose planning commission has provided key approval recommendations to construct a mixed-use residential proposal at 1663 Alum Rock Avenue. The developers have named the project ‘the Little Portugal Gateway,’ for being in the Little Portugal neighborhood of San Jose. It will be a substantial mid-density increase to the currently low-density area. 123 new apartments will be built, ranging from studios to two-beds.
