KTGY Architects have filed preliminary planning permits for a new seven-story residential building at 905 North Capitol Avenue in Alum Rock, San Jose. The project will provide a significant residential addition to an area with existing mid-density projects, public transit, and large retail shops nearby.
The development will create 365 new houses on an over 150,000 square foot lot. There will be a seven-story apartment block with 337 units ranging from studios to two-bedrooms, while the remaining 28 residences can be found in a three-story townhouse addition. Amenities include a landscaped courtyard and a residential pool.
The building is just under twenty minutes from the Berryessa BART station on the 61 bus line. The city’s VTA light rail runs along North Capitol Avenue, with a stop one block from the development site. The parcel will require the demolition of a single-unit structure.
The Hanover Company is responsible for the development as the property owner.
The preliminary permits are currently under review, and an estimated construction timeline is not yet public.
