Preliminary review and development permits have been filed for a new 5-story market-rate development at 1050 Saint Elizabeth Drive on Willow Glen, an expansive neighborhood south of downtown San Jose. The project would bring new residential offerings to the Somerset Senior Living facility. Evershine XVII LP is responsible for the development of the property owner, with KCR Development responsible for funding.
The development will add to the 2.22-acre parcel, providing 150 market-rate units. New amenities will include a community room, fitness center, and a community courtyard. The Somerset Senior Living facility, formerly the Kwok Yuen Assisted Living center, offers a boutique lifestyle for their residences staffed around the clock with medical and social professionals.
Irvine-based DNA Design and Architecture is responsible for the design. The firm has extensive experience working on residential projects in the Bay Area and Los Angeles, including a similarly sized 157-unit development at 150 Airport Boulevard, South San Francisco.
The applications are currently under review. An estimated construction timeline has not yet been announced.
