The construction of a new residential complex at 6700 Golden Gate Drive in Dublin has moved forward. Real estate investment firm, AvalonBay Communities bought the project site last month. The property site currently houses an industrial building that is proposed for demolition.

The property was purchased through an affiliate and cost around $38.6 million. KTGY Architecture and Planning is managing the design concepts.

The project site spans across an area of 9.1 acres. The residential complex will feature 499 new housing rentals. The housing units will be a mix of studios, one and two-bedroom apartments. Onsite amenities will include a pool, spa, roof deck and gym, as well as a public 1,500-square-foot co-working space.

The parcels were assembled by an alliance of Bayview Development Group and the Morley Brothers. Bayview and Avalon provided an adjacent parcel on Regional Street to Eden Housing, where 114 affordable housing units for seniors are proposed. The units are offered as a mix of one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units.

The estimated date of project initiation has not been announced yet.

The project site is located in the downtown area and is next to the West Dublin BART station.
