Tarlton Properties have filed an application to propose a new multi-structure office development at 995-1005 O’Brien Drive and 1300 Willow Road in Menlo Park, San Mateo County. The project would create a five-story and four-story research and development building alongside a new parking structure. The offices will be less than a mile from the Facebook Headquarters at One Hacker Way.
The recent application requests for the city council and planning commission to begin the review process, including architectural control, use permit, BMR agreement, and the environmental review.
The development will result in the demolition of three single-story commercial buildings to produce 227,050 square feet of office space and a 505-car garage. The buildings will help expand the region’s growing life sciences and health care industry footprint. Further details are expected as the proposal moves through Menlo Park City Hall.
Tarlton Properties is responsible for the construction of 1035 O’Brien Drive adjacent to 995-1005 O’Brien Drive. DES Architects designed the 36,000 square foot office building, achieving LEED Silver certification with laboratory and office space.
Tarlton Properties holds properties for several other firms in the area, including BillionToOne at 1035 O’Brien, Grail, PacBio, and Personalis. The neighborhood is dominated by single-family housing, offices, and dozens of Facebook offices.
