Development permits have been filed for a five-story residential building at 2311 San Pablo Avenue in McCloymonds, West Oakland. The project is expected to add 44 residential units to the East Bay housing market, including market-rate and affordable housing. Mei Ling & Noel Yi are listed as the property owners.
Of the 44 apartments, 39 market-rate and five affordable housing units. Parking will be offered for 30 vehicles by making use of vehicle stackers. More storage will provide parking for 26 bicycles. Residential amenities include a courtyard and roof deck.
The 60-foot structure will rise from the 8,400 square foot parcel to yield 34,300 square feet, with 27,760 square feet of residential area. Apartment sizes range with 16 studios, 20 one-bedroom, and eight two-bedroom units.
Dinar & Associates is responsible for the design. Construction will rise from a currently vacant triangular parcel. Early illustrations show the project with balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows, though a new rendering has not been released.
The property will rise at San Pablo Avenue and West Grand Avenue, overlooking the Interstate 980 freeway that divides West Oakland from Downtown. 19th Street/Oakland BART station is twelve minutes away on foot.
The project will require the removal of three city street trees.
