The San Jose planning department is scheduled to review the draft supplemental environmental impact report (SEIR) for a proposed Marriott Hotel at 495 West San Carlos Street in Diridon, San Jose. A Site Development Permit has been submitted seeking the demolition of three residential units, a water tank building, and three commercial buildings.
Urban Catalyst is the project developer. Studio Current is responsible for the design concepts and construction. The hotel will feature landscaped areas designed by Kimley Horn.

The project site merges four parcels into one and spans an area of 0.60 acres. The project will bring a 175-room hotel. A three-level parking garage spanning an area of 78,000 square feet and a capacity of 117 vehicles will be designed on the site. The building facade will rise to a height of 84 feet. The total built-up area is 120,000 square feet. The proposal also includes the removal of seven trees and two sheds.
Onsite amenities will include an exercise room, meeting rooms, a breakfast dining hall, and a rooftop deck. An indoor-outdoor lounge area will offer a bar and barbeque pit on the eighth floor.

The property site is located on the northeast corner of West San Carlos Street and Josefa Street. The hotel will be a twelve-minute walk away from San Jose Diridon BART and a twenty-minute walk away from Downtown San Jose.

this website is so strange. you mention walking distance to transit that doesn’t exist, and completely fail to mention already-existing major transit at the same location, namely, San Jose Diridon Caltrain, which google says is a 10-min walk. and VTA light rail, San Fernando stop, is a 7-min walk.
