A new residential project has been proposed at 4160 Bay Street in Fremont. The project proposal includes the development of a three-story residential condominium building, replacing a single-family home spanning 1,789 square feet that was constructed in 1955.
The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 5,000 sqaure feet. Named Mahmush Condominiums, the project will consist of a six-unit condominium building. The three-story building will house six two-bedroom, two-bath residential units ranging in size from 1,000 square feet to 1,150 square feet. Each unit will have a private open space area comprised of either a balcony or patio. Five long-term bicycle lockers and five short-term bicycle racks will be provided near the building entrance.
Of the four existing trees on the project site, three will be preserved and one existing palm tree will be removed. A mix of groundcovers and shrubs will be planted within landscape planters on the east, west, and south sides of the building.
The project applicaition has been submitted and is pending a design review. City Planning Commission has scheduled a review meeting on April 14, details of which can be found here. The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet.
The project site sits in close proximity to a school, an apartment building, and other mixed-use buildings.
