Development permit have been filed seeking the approval of a mixed-use project proposed at 995 Riverfront Street in West Sacramento. The project proposal includes the development of a five-story building offering residential and commercial spaces.
Chicago-based development firm CA Ventures is the developer. Mogavero Architects is responsible for the designs.
The project site was sold for $10 million and spans an area of 4.4 acres. Named West, the project will bring 286 apartments and retail space into a five-story mixed-use building. The retail space will span about 8,000 square feet on the ground floor.
In 2006, the original proposal for the site consisted of seven residential towers along the river, as well as a hotel, central plaza and about 120,000 square feet of retail and office space. A revised concept in 2015 scaled Riveredge back to a shorter project of 279 units, but included an urban beach concept open to the public. More recently, the urban beach was dropped and the unit count raised.
The project site is located east of Sutter Health Park in the city’s Bridge District.
