A new housing community has opened at 1801 West Capitol Avenue, West Sacramento. After years of planning, the proposal for a new residential community includes residences with onsite services, serving as the first permanent supportive housing in the area.
Mercy Housing California is the project developer. Mogavero Architects is responsible for the designs.
The new 85-home service-enriched community provides housing for local residents who have experienced housing challenges. The community was recently recognized as a Sacramento Business Times Project of the Year, and residents are currently supported by Mercy Housing resident services and case management partners Telecare and CommuniCare.
The community includes a large, landscaped courtyard, a community room, and meeting spaces. All residents will have access to free, onsite case management, as well as social activities and resident services.
The list of funders and partners include: Bank of America, the California Department of Housing and Community Development, the City of West Sacramento, the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, Yolo County Housing, Dignity Health.
