A new project has been proposed for construction at 841 Old Country in San Carlos. The project proposal includes the development of two buildings offering spaces for office and research & development uses. The proposal also involves the demolition of all existing buildings and site improvements.
The Sobrato Organization is the project applicant. STUDIOS Architecture is responsible for the designs.
The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 3.4 acres. The proposed project will construct two new office and research & development (R&D) buildings. The buildings are planned to be developed as a five-story building, spanning an area of 193,852 square feet, and a four-story building, spanning an area of 131,621 square feet. The maximum heights for the buildings are set to be approximately 90 and 113 feet respectively. A two-level underground parking structure will be developed on the site. Project site improvements include a courtyard between the buildings, and adjacent street and streetscape improvements.
Project construction activities are anticipated to span approximately 3 years. The north building and surrounding site construction is estimated to take 13 months. The project site is bounded by Bransten Road to the north, Old County Road to the west, Commercial Street to the south, and development and parking on the Commercial Street and Bransten Road parcels to the east. The project site is located 0.46 miles south of the San Carlos Caltrain Station.
