A new multi-family housing project has been planned for development at 5266 Young Street in Sacramento. The project proposal includes the construction of three new three-story buildings offering a total of 25 residences for families at affordable rates.
San Juan Mutual Housing Associates, L.P and Mutual Housing California are the project developers.
the project site is comprised of eight parcels totaling an area of 5.5 acres. The new multi-family housing project will bring three new three-story buildings offering eight dwelling units. The project will have two identical Type B buildings and one Type C building. The buildings will contain 29,397 square feet of R-2 apartments, 1,571 square feet of S-2 storage, and 596 square feet of covered porches and decks. The buildings will contain 25 units total; 6 one-bedroom units, 7 two-bedroom units, and 12 three-bedroom units.
Building A contains 1 one-bedroom unit, 2 two-bedroom units, and 5 three-bedroom units. The first floor will yield a total built-up area of 3,390 square feet, 3,528 square feet for the second and third floors each.
Building B will contain 4 one-bedroom units, 3 two-bedroom units, and 2 three-bedroom units. The first floor will yield a total built-up area of 5, 117 square feet, 3,678 square feet for the second and third floors each. The first floor also contains an assembly space spanning 944 square feet.
Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA) will provide $2 million in the City Housing Trust Funds to finance the project.
The Phase 1 site is 4.2 acres, of which 3.55 acres are located in the county and 0.65 are located in the City. The second phase includes the remaining parcel at 5716 Stockton Boulevard which is located in the County. Phase2 is anticipated to be a garden-style walk-up building that will include approximately 70 units of permanent supportive housing project (PSH) comprised of studio and 1-bedroom units.
