New permits have been filed for the Stone Beetland development in South Sacramento. The project, which received city council approval in October last year, aims to build 1,163 units across 141 acres of undeveloped land next to the burgeoning Delta Shores neighborhood. Taylor Builders, a Roseville-based developer, is responsible for the property owner.

Ben van der Meer’s reporting for the Sacramento Business Journal shared that initial work could start as early as this year. The permit will “initiate the Site Plan and Design Review process for the LDR-1 portion of the Stone Beetland PUD project.” The LDR-1 portion is the 100-unit single-family neighborhood by the future intersection of 24th Street and Cosumnes River Boulevard.

The updated application aims to create 1,163 dwelling units, including 377 single-family homes, 73 condominiums, and 711 apartments. Across the site, 198 units will be designated as affordable. Approximately 80,000 square feet of commercial space. A project architect is not listed. CBG is the civil engineer.

Taylor Builders was founded in 2017 by Clifton Taylor, with funding provided by JEN Partners. The company specializes in suburban neighborhood master planning and has several large projects in the Sacramento region.

The estimated cost and timeline for construction have yet to be established.

  1. Great news!! This is incredible. I hope the plans allow for more housing units in the future , as needed. Sacramento has become a large city, and hopefully advances in technology will make buildings with more stories more cost effective to build as a permanent place to live.
