A temporary shelter has been proposed at 1015 Geary Street in Civic Center in San Francisco. The proposed program would provide low-barrier, non-congregate shelter for adults experiencing challenges with housing.

The scope of work includes providing low-barrier, non-congregate shelter for adults experiencing challenges with housing. The 1015 Geary Street building has 102 units with in-unit bathrooms and showers. Proposed on-site amenities include lobby and front desk, elevator, office spaces and meeting rooms. The site is currently being used as a non-congregate shelter under an existing booking agreement with the City and County of San Francisco. The project does not involve construction.

The non-profit provider of this low-barrier temporary shelter program will provide 24/7 onsite support services that implement a Housing First model and include intake and orientation, connection to HSH’s Coordinated Entry Access Points to engage in Problem Solving and Coordinated Entry Assessments that support in identifying permanent exits from homelessness, referrals and coordination with other services including benefits advocacy and assistance, mental health, behavioral health and treatment, in home support services, employment and job-related services, document readiness support for housing referral status households and organized onsite activities.
