Updated permits have been filed for the proposed four-story hotel at 3664 North Freeway Boulevard in Natomas, Sacramento. The project aims to replace a vacant lot with over a hundred guest rooms under the Holiday Inn brand near the Sacramento International Airport. Mike Iqbal is listed as the property owner.
The 60-foot tall structure is expected to yield around 70,040 square feet, including 116 guest rooms, meeting rooms, a fitness center, and a restaurant. Additional amenities will include a small outdoor pool on the southern corner of the site. Parking will be included for 101 cars and 12 bicycles.
Iyer & Associates is responsible for the design. Illustrations show an uninspiring four-story structure clad with stone molding and smooth-textured stucco. A projecting porte cochere will extend over the hotel lobby, while the projecting cornices will provide a faux-classical decoration.
The proposal will contribute to the growing inventory of hotels in the corridor connecting Downtown Sacramento with the city’s airport. The 2.73-acre property is located across from I-80, nestled between two strip malls and a small office park. The greater neighborhood surrounding the proposal is dominated by low-slung industrial structures, retail centers, and suburban sprawl.
The estimated cost and timeline for development have yet to be shared.
