Plans have been approved for additional housing on a small parcel at 3246 Kroy Way in Tahoe Park, Sacramento. The application utilizes Senate Bill 9 to split the existing lot and add a residential duplex to the vacant backyard of an existing home. Paul Steidl of BuildCasa California is responsible for the application, design, and is the property owner.

The 8th Avenue Bungalows, as the project is named, will create a new duplex on a 3,272 square foot parcel at the corner of Kroy Street and 8th Avenue. The simple vernacular design will be clad with board-and-batten siding, shingle roofing, and natural wood beams framing the two front doors.

The future residents will be in the heart of a sprawling suburban neighborhood east of Downtown Sacramento, close to several big-box stores and the massive Hiram W. Johnson High School Campus.

Paul Steidl is the property owner, operating through BuildCasa California Acquisition IV LLC. Public records show the property last sold in January this year for $450,000. The estimated cost and timeline for construction have yet to be shared.
