Plans for an affordable housing development at 1207 North Capitol Avenue are scheduled to be reviewed during a public meeting tomorrow morning. The San Jose Planning Director’s Hearing is expected to vote on the five-story development with over a hundred units in the city’s Cherrywood neighborhood. Danco Group is the project sponsor, having purchased the property in 2024 for $10.5 million.

The project spans 1.5 acres and includes 128 units, with 127 affordable apartments and one market-rate unit for the on-site property manager. Residents will have access to over 13,000 square feet of communal areas, including the lounge, community room, fitness center, and exterior open spaces.
Form4 Architecture is listed as responsible for the design. Illustrations show some setbacks, and facade material variation will visually break apart the structure, including some private balconies.

The property is located along North Capitol Avenue between Berryessa Avenue and Sierra Road. Future residents will be across from the Berryessa Light Rail station, and just 15 minutes away from the Berryessa BART Station via bus. The site is close to the Villa Sport Athletic Club, several suburban shopping centers, and the Penitencia Creek open space.
