A large 57-unit multi-family project is under construction at 2755 El Camino Real in Palo Alto. This proposed structure rises fifty feet up, or four floors over a busy intersection between El Camino Real and Page Mill Road, in an area already dotted with four-story multi-family projects. Windy Hill Property Ventures is sponsoring the development.
Nearby transit access is available, with Caltrain running through California Avenue Station six blocks away. It is pushing Palo Alto in a transit-oriented direction, with a quick commute by train to downtown San Francisco and San Jose. This project can help alleviate a modicum of pressure from the San Francisco housing market.
2755 El Camino Real will have a modern design, with larger jut-outs featuring white cladding sticking out from the structure, which has a primarily brick façade. Brown cladding is also located on certain corners of the structure. The combination of the stately brickwork and different colored cladding creates an eye-catching and unique design. BDE Architecture is responsible for the design.
Palo Alto is a wealthy suburban town with single-family housing located outside of a business-district core. More Multi-family housing projects have appeared on the scene in recent years, and with this new proposal, the trend is continuing.
Construction on the site started earlier this year, with completion expected in 2021.
