A large-scale office project is proposed for construction at 1185 Coleman Avenue in San Jose. The project proposal includes the development of an office building in the Coleman Highline complex, a mixed-use tech campus that has become one of the most successful and valuable projects in Silicon Valley.
Cupertino-based real estate company Hunter Storm is the project developer. Gensler is responsible for the design concepts.
If approved, more than 1,000 people could potentially be employed in the proposed offices. The building could become the newest addition to the Coleman Highline complex. The new office structure will consist of an office building totaling 290,000 square feet.
Considerable amenities are being planned for the new building, according to the project proposal. The project will feature ample at-grade courtyard space along with a highline connecting the building to a garage.
Roku, a streaming titan, is a tenant in several buildings in Coleman Highline. Roku has leased about 800,000 square feet. Roku has moved some employees into the space it leased. Yahoo, through a deal struck by its former owner Verizon, is a tenant in multiple buildings that total roughly 658,000 square feet. Verizon is attempting to sublease some of that space, although Yahoo has begun to move some employees into the building.
The office building will sprout just west of the city’s international airport on a 4.5-acre site. The developers plan to begin construction in summer 2022.
