A new Special Use Permit and Tentative Map have outlined plans for the construction of new townhomes on a site in the Lyndale neighborhood of San Jose. The project will require the demolition of four existing houses and three accessory structures, making way for the 36 new townhomes and significantly increasing the density.
The developer contacts at City Ventures have not made available any more detailed information about the composition of the design of the projects beyond the general scope. However, similar projects by the developer have consisted of dense three-story modern townhouse projects in Santa Rosa, Richmond, and Milpitas.
The Florence Avenue site is located within a five-minute walk of the Alum Rock VTA station, and the new project proposal takes advantage of the excellent pubic transit access to expand the density of the neighborhood. The proposed project will also make space for vehicle parking, in a location with fast and easy access to the Bayshore and Sinclair Freeways.
