The Draft Environmental Impact Report has been published for the five-story research and development proposal at 1350 Adams Court in Menlo Park, San Mateo County. The publication starts a roughly six-week period where city staff is soliciting public comments on the draft report for the life sciences project. Tarlton Properties is the project developer.

The document is prepared by ICF, a San Francisco-based Environment Consulting firm. In its conclusion, ICF writes that 1350 Adams Court “would not result in any significant and unavoidable impacts. All potentially significant project impacts would either be less than significant or would be reduced to a less-than-significant level with the implementation of identified mitigation measures.” The document can be viewed on the CEQA website here, and information about how to comment can be found on the Menlo Park Website here.

DES Architects + Planning is responsible for the design. The exterior will be wrapped in a curtainwall of blue-tinted windows contrasted with light grey metal panels and glass fiber reinforced concrete. A ring of greenery will surround the building. Landscaping features will include several publicly-accessible outdoor amenities lining the shaded walkway, offering various seating spaces, a patio, and a sculpture.
The 92-foot tall structure will yield 260,400 square feet with an intended capacity for 600 employees, and parking integrated on-site. The project is seeking an increase in the height limit and a bonus level development in exchange for the community amenities.

The property is located within the Menlo Business Park area, an office and industrial zone surrounded by suburban sprawl. The Meta Headquarters building, owner of Facebook and Whatsapp, is a four-minute drive away. The property is nearby Willow Road and the Bayfront Expressway.
Construction is expected to last 29 months from groundbreaking to completion. An updated timeline has not been established.
