Permits have been filed for the proposed three-story Best Western hotel at 3980 Lake Road in West Sacramento, Yolo County. The project will replace a vacant plot of land overlooking I-80 with a 61-key hotel and associated surface parking.
The 42-foot tall structure will yield around 36,570 square feet with 61 hotel rooms, a pool, meeting rooms, and a fitness center. The structure will cover a small portion of the 1.23-acre site, with most of the area dedicated to a 63-car surface parking lot. Additional space will be included for eight bicycles.
TKF & Associates is responsible for the design. The nearly symmetrical exterior design will emanate from the central porte-cochère with a dark ground-level base and varying parapet heights. The facade will be clad with plaster and smooth cement sidings.
West Sacramento is a separate city in Yolo County located across a river from the state capitol, Sacramento. The city has a population of around 53,640 individuals as of last year.
The property had been approved for a 63-room hotel at La Quinta Inn and Suite Hotels in June 2008. Plans were later resurfaced in 2015 for the Best Western Hotel. Raju and Andy Patel as listed as the property owners, operating through Shree J1 Investments LLC, with the Holiday Inn Express Mountain View listed as their LLC address.
