A new hotel has been proposed fro construction at 39888 Balentine Drive in Newark. The project proposal includes the development of a new five-story hotel offering guest rooms, onsite amenities and parking. The project requires the demolition of the existing building on the site that is being used as a restaurant (9,953 square feet).
SKL Associates Inc is responsible for the designs.

The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 1.66 acres. The project will bring a new five-story hotel spanning approximately 75,704 square feet. The facade will rise to a height of 64 feet. The hotel will consist of 132 guest rooms and guest amenities including ballrooms, a bar and dining area, fitness room, and roof terrace. The project also involves the construction of a surface parking lot with 96 vehicle parking spaces and 8 bike parking spaces.
Landscaped open areas spanning 3,020 square feet will be designed on the premises.

The site is bounded by Balentine Drive to the south, Mowry School Road to the east. The site neighbors restaurants, surface parking, grocery stores, and other commercial retail and services. Interstate 880 is located approximately 525 feet north of the site.
The project construction is estimated to be completed in one phase and occur over approximately 18 months.
