A mixed-use project has been approved for development at 435 East 3rd Street in San Mateo. The project proposal includes the construction of a five-story mixed-use building offering spaces for office and residential uses.
Windy Hill Property Ventures is responsible for the development as the property owner. ARC TEC, with offices in California and Arizona, is responsible for the design.
The project will bring a five-story building spanning an area of 39,893 square feet, designated for residential and office uses. The building will offer five apartment units including one low-income unit. The building will also feature office space spanning 33,529 square feet.
Renderings reveal a façade designed in bricks, glazing, aluminum panels, and painted stucco. BKF is the civil engineer.
Construction of the project would require the demolition of the existing auto repair facility and associated surface parking lot. The project has been approved by the City Planning Commission, however, the estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet.
Once completed, residents and office commuters will be just two blocks from the San Mateo Caltrain station and nearby the retail-rich downtown core.
