Development permits have been submitted for constructing a new commercial building at 1901 Broadway Land Park, Sacramento. The project proposal includes the demolition of an existing office building and the construction a five-story mixed-use building. LPAS Architecture + Design is managing the project.

The project, named On Broadway Apartments, is located in the heart of the Broadway Corridor and adjacent to the thriving Midtown and Downtown submarkets. The property on the northeast corner of 19th Street and Broadway currently houses an empty 27, 288 square-foot office building, formerly used for church administration, which is proposed to be demolished for the apartment project.

The new five-story building will feature 150 apartment units; 75 one-bedroom, 25 two-bedroom, and 50 three-bedroom units. 3, 546 square feet of retail space on the ground floor is planned. 75 vehicle parking spaces and 133 bike parking spaces are also designed. The building facade is proposed at 65 feet. The total site area is approximately 1.25 acres.

The neighborhood is a walk-friendly area and is served by MUNI bus lines like 42B, 51, 62, 67, and 75.

It’s a tragedy that the project burned up before it could be finished. They were pretty far along… Very similar to the troubles with fire at projects in the east bay/Santa Row.
