Construction Underway for 3637-3657 Sacramento Street in Presidio Heights, San Francisco

Construction work is underway for a mixed-use infill project at 3637-3657 Sacramento Street in San Francisco’s Presidio Heights neighborhood. Crews have completed the foundation, with work starting on the two levels of basement parking that will sit beneath new housing and commercial space. Sacramento Locust Associates is the project sponsor, working with the owners, Litke Properties.

The 40-foot-tall structure is expected to yield around 67,500 square feet, including 17,040 square feet for housing, 9,980 square feet for the dental offices, 6,560 square feet for ground-level retail, and 24,900 square feet for parking. The basement will provide space for 50 vehicles, with additional space provided for 49 bicycles.

Once complete, the top two floors will be occupied by 18 apartments, including six one-bedrooms and 12 two-bedrooms. Residents will benefit from small glass-railing balconies overlooking either Sacramento Street or the communal rear yard.

Gary Gee Architects is responsible for the design. Illustrations from the local firm show a structure designed to appear like four smaller structures via exterior articulation and varied materials. Facade materials will include brick veneer and plaster.

Public records show the property last sold in 2007 for $8.5 million.

The 0.33-acre property is located along Sacramento Street between Locust Street and Spruce Street, one block away from a retail-rich portion of California Street. Future residents will be just a few blocks away from the beautiful Presidio of San Francisco.
