Construction Underway At 2918 Mission Street, San Francisco

Construction is currently underway at the former historic laundromat at 2918 Mission Street in San Francisco’s Mission District. Crews are moving ahead with the foundation, and the structure is expected to start rising next year. Local developer Cresleigh Homes is the project owner.

Once complete, the 84-foot-tall structure is expected to yield around 67,100 square feet, including roughly 59,000 square feet of housing and 7,000 square feet of ground-level retail. The second floor will include an amenity deck and private terraces. The project will feature 75 apartments.

Multistudio, formerly known as Gould Evans, is responsible for the design. Updated illustrations show an urban vernacular, including facade articulation to visually reduce the structure’s scale, different exterior materials, a seventh-floor setback, and bay windows overlooking Mission Street. Illustrations show a placeholder mural on the northern elevation, with the final design yet to be revealed.

The property is located at the corner of 25th Street and Mission Street, a block away from the 24th Street BART Station and the Cesar Chavez Street thoroughfare.

Entitlements for the eight-story project were approved in late 2018. Cresleigh Homes purchased the lot from tech founder and CEO Richard Tillman for $13.5 million in April 2019. Construction is expected to begin next year, with vertical work starting in early 2027 and interior work starting in late summer. The grand opening is currently scheduled for early 2028.
