New building permits have been filed for the mixed-use proposal at 1600 Broadway in Land Park, Sacramento. The five-story construction, formerly addressed as 2500 16th Street, will create 51 new apartments to the retail-rich thoroughfare, along with a full ground level of retail. This application shows two fewer units than when development permits were filed in December last year. Williams + Paddon will be responsible for the architecture.
The project will yield 60,150 square feet, with 14,200 square feet dedicated to commercial space. The building will cover a 0.95-acre parcel at the corner of Land Park Drive and Broadway. Parking will be included for 38 vehicles.
Demolition permits were filed in November of 2019 and subsequently fulfilled. The property had been site to Tower Records, a local fixture selling CDs and vinyl records.
The site location is a walk-friendly location and is well-serviced by bus lines 30, 42B, 51, 62, and 86. Residents will find themselves just across from most of Downtown Sacramento, separated by the Golden State Highway. The date of completion is not yet known.
