Formal permits have been filed for the Safeway grocery store redevelopment at 850 La Playa Street in San Francisco’s Outer Richmond neighborhood. The latest application shows a slight increase in residential capacity and a significant increase in affordable housing. Align Real Estate is the project sponsor, working on behalf of the property owner, Albertsons Companies.
Preliminary plans have been revealed for a potential mixed-use skyscraper at 5727 College Avenue across from the Rockridge BART Station in Oakland. The 31-story proposal looks to replace a Trader Joe’s grocery store and associated surface parking with a high-rise senior living facility. Align Real Estate is the project applicant, working with the property owner, Albertsons.
Application materials were filed earlier this week for the demolition and redevelopment of 1655 El Camino Real in San Mateo. The site is currently occupied by a large grocery store, but developers at Align Real Estate are hopeful it can become as many as 396 units of new housing.
Preliminary permits have been filed for the fourth Safeway redevelopment proposal in San Francisco. This time, project developer Align Real Estate is looking to replace the grocery store with a 25-story sloped tower, containing nearly eight hundred rental apartments, at 15 Marina Boulevard in the Marina District.
Preliminary permits have been filed to redevelop the Safeway at 3350 Mission Street in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights. This is the third proposal filed by Align Real Estate to replace an existing Safeway big-box store in the city with a new grocery store atop hundreds of new apartments. The Bernal Heights location is expected to produce over three hundred units across seven floors.
