The fourth tallest skyscraper in the city planned or built is 181 Fremont Street, a residential tower overlooking the Transbay Transit Center in SoMa, San Francisco. Completed in 2017, it is the tallest mixed-use tower in the Bay Area standing 810 feet above street level. Heller Manus Architects is responsible for the design.
Plans to construct the Teatro ZinZanni Permanent Theater along the Embarcadero have moved forward. The project proposal includes the demolition of a surface parking lot and the construction of a new theater for Teatro ZinZanni. Kenwood Investments is managing the design, entitlements, and construction. Hornberger+Worstell designed the site plan.
Alteration permits have been filed to expand the room count for the topped-out SOMA Mission Bay Hotel at 100 Channel Street, SoMa, San Francisco. The alteration comes thanks to the Mission Bay South Redevelopment Plan’s “Hotel Project.” This building is part of a multi-structure development including One Mission Bay and brings retail, 350 residential units, and 250 guest rooms to a less developed neighborhood corner. The recently filed permits increase the hospitality offering to 299 units. SOMA Hotel LLC is responsible for the development.
