New building permits have been filed for 150 Kingston Street in the Bernal Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, two blocks from 3515 Mission Street, also covered today by SFYIMBY. Once approved, the proposal will bring two units to what is currently a single-family house. Frank Worsley, the building owner, is responsible for the development.
Atelier KS is responsible for the design of the new building. The design will replicate the existing architectural style, adding new wood siding panels. Rising 25 feet, the project looks to expand the built space on-site by at least double. Unit A will spread across 1,205 square feet, with access to a 225 square-foot garage. Unit B will spread 460 square feet, virtually an additional dwelling unit, or ADU.
The structure is half a block from the neighborhood’s Mission Street commercial strip and a grocery store two blocks north. Bernal Heights Park is ten minutes by foot, and the city’s central business district is twenty-five minutes by public transit.
Construction is expected to cost $800,000. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
