A recent site visit by SF YIMBY has shown that the fourth and final expansion of the Trinity Place residential block in SoMa is nearly complete. The exterior has been almost entirely sealed up for 1177 Market Street, though scaffolding remains in the Market street portal through the building to the courtyard. Whole Foods will be an anchor tenant for the project, opening up its largest store in the city. San Francisco-based Trinity Properties is responsible for the development.

The site visit images show that the facade has indeed come together, reflecting the architectural style of the previous three buildings. Arquitectonica is responsible for the architecture. The structure seems to show off three different designs, visually breaking up the significant block-wide development. Grey and granite-toned stone panels comprise two styles, with the third style decorate curtain-wall with vertical chrome mullions.

With the imminent completion of phase four, Trinity Properties are responsible for around 1,912 apartments, with 231 sold as affordable housing. Five hundred two units will be nestled within 1177 Market. Sixty-one are to be one-bedroom units, and 440 are two-bedroom units. 275 parking spaces will be produced below ground from 275,000 square feet. Residents will have an array of amenities with a central courtyard featuring the city’s tallest statue, a 92-foot conceptual statue dubbed Venus.

Retail shops have already been established on-site with phase three’s completion in 2017. Phase four is set to add a whole new chunk of retail to the city, with over 80,000 square feet of retail, 55,000 square feet of which will be the city’s largest Whole Foods store.

Founded in 1949, Trinity has remained focused on residential development in the City of San Francisco for its over seventy-year history.

The developers are expecting 1177 Market to be ready to open by mid-2021.
