New planning permits have been filed for the construction of multiple buildings at the NUVO Artisan Square development, located at 5301 East Commerce Way in North Natomas, Sacramento. According to city planning documents, the project is expected to bring 314 residential units and a shared amenities clubhouse to the suburban area north of the city center. Watt Communities is responsible for the property as the developer and owner.
Permits were filed for four of the 76 buildings earlier last week, accounting for 20 units. Construction for the four is estimated to cost three million dollars averaging $150,000 per home. Which will range in size from 750 to 2,000 square feet. 75 structures will be for residential use, and one will be a clubhouse with shared amenities and admin functions.
KTGY is responsible for the architecture. The firm’s approach to this development is to use two popular styles in California. Designs are Spanish and Italianate, owing to the Bay Area’s colonial past and admiration of Italian architecture, respectively. The final product is stucco walls with large windows, terracotta roofing tiles, with a range of ornamental features attached to avoid monotony. MTW Group is in charge of the landscaping. Just 35% of the over 920,000 square foot lot will be covered by development, leaving the remaining 600,000 square feet of vehicular infrastructure and flora.
Prices for units start in the low $300,000. An estimated completion date is not yet public.
