Development permits were submitted seeking approval to construct two new six-story hotel buildings on 247-295 Commercial Street, Sunnyvale, Silicon Valley. The project proposal includes erecting two hotel buildings totaling 274 hotel rooms, an underground parking garage. Site improvements are also a part of the proposed commercial development.
DOA Developments is the owner. Lowney Architecture and team are managing the design concepts and construction of the hotels.
The site’s total area is 1.5 acres, which will be developed after merging two units into a common area lot. The permits filed also request parking adjustment to reduce the minimum required parking spaces and utilize valet service.
The building facades will rise to seventy-five feet. Both of the hotel buildings will feature a five-level wood construction stacked over one-level of the concrete podium with one subterranean parking area. Both the buildings will serve separate hotel operations but will share a single underground valet parking facility.
The site location is an efficient commercial hub in downtown Sunnyvale. The area is well-serviced by MUNI bus lines 20, 22, 55, 56, and 57.
