The environmental review documents have been published with good news for the construction of a research facility at 1111 Pennsylvania Street by the southern edge of Potrero Hill, San Francisco. The review declared that the project would not have a significant effect on the environment. The four-story structure would replace a surface parking lot currently occupied by portable shipping containers. Buddha Properties is listed as the property owner.
The 65-foot tall structure is going to create 171,210 square feet, of which 143,910 square feet will be non-life science laboratory space, fulfilling a high-demand real estate market for the peninsula. Parking will be included for 22 vehicles and 56 bicycles. Employees will also benefit from the 16,800 square foot rooftop terrace looking over I-280 toward Dogpatch.
Workshop1 is the project architect. The facade design is a mix of floor-to-ceiling windows with glass fiber reinforced concrete panels and perforated metal vertical fins.
Construction is expected to last nearly two years, starting with the removal of 90 shipping containers. Building permits filed in 2019 estimated construction to cost nearly $70 million.
The property is less than five minutes from Potrero Hope SF, where construction is underway for 1,700 modern apartments, including replacement housing for the existing 619 affordable residences. Employees will be within walking distance of the 3rd Street KT light rail line run by the SFMTA.

not to mention this is a 7-min walk from 22nd St Caltrain. how come this site almost always neglects to mention Caltrain connections?
It’s also across the street from the 48 MUNI line stop.
The listing of parking of 22 vehicles and 56 bicycles, Since bicycles are vehicles does that 56 vehicles(bicycles) including the 22 other “vehicles”? Or does that mean 78 vehicles parking total? Or possibly Does the other vehicles parking include electric shared cars? Thanks
