Development and renovation plans have been proposed for a residence at 58 Buena Vista Avenue in Castro-Upper Market in San Francisco. The project proposal includes the renovation of an existing single-family residence.
SAW (Spiegel Aihara Workshop) is the project architect.

The project site is a parcel spanning 2,875 square feet. The scope of the project includes the renovation and vertical expansion of an existing single-family residence. The renovation will result in changing the two-story residence to a four-story split-level residence. The residence will feature three bedrooms and span a total built-up area of 3,732 square feet. The vertical construction will also include expansion of the second floor, addition of a third and fourth floor and roof deck, and an update to the garage to accommodate two cars. The front and rear facades will also be renovated and include two new decks. Usable open space measuring 1,604 square feet will also be developed.
The project renovation cost is estimated at $925,650. The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet.

Wow cool looking reno. I hope projects like this can expand people ideas of what “neighborhood character” can look like and pave the way for mid rise apartment buildings in the area.
I think this is dreadful…so out of character with the neighbouring homes.
Love contemporary or modern adjacent to classic. This proposed renovation however is indeed dreadful. A bad, sloppy, tired 70s-looking attempt at who knows what.
