New preliminary permits have been filed for a five-story mixed-use complex at 1410 R Street in Sacramento’s Richmond Grove neighborhood, close to Downtown. The proposal will replace a parking lot with about four dozen homes. Priority Parking Services currently occupies the site.
The initial filing provides only a few details about the preliminary project. The permit describes a five-story building spanning 72,180 square feet. Inside, the building will add 49 apartments above a commercial space. Construction is expected to cost around $18 million, a figure not including all development costs. The property owner and developer are not listed.
The property is located along 14th Street between R Street and Rice Alley. Future residents will be next to the Our Street NGTMKT, two blocks from John Fremont Park and near a few Light Rail stations. The State Capitol Park is ten minutes on foot or four minutes by bicycle.

Great infill proposal! There also is no reason this building should have car/driveway access off of R Street. Close off R Street to cars like they did a few years ago
Keep these urban infill housing projects coming to downtown Sac!
